Why you need Flue and Filter Cleaning Services
Filter cleaning services
Filters are the first line of defence in your kitchen exhaust system. They trap the bulk of smoke, grease, and other particles as your cooking emissions pass through them, helping to reduce build-up in your ducts, fans, and vents. As these particles accumulate in your filter, it will become blocked and dirty. The resulting reduction in performance means that grease-laden air takes longer to escape, instead depositing its fatty load on your cooking surfaces, walls, and ceilings. To keep your kitchen clean and your exhaust system running smoothly, it’s vital to have your filters cleaned regularly.
Flue cleaning services
A flue is an extraction system duct that vents air from your canopy. As the air travels through the flue, any grease and fat that has made it past your filter can cling to the inside. Joints and bends in flues can be particularly problematic as grease tends to pool in those areas. If the flue gets hot enough, this grease can ignite. Therefore, ensuring the inside of your flue is clean is paramount for the safety of your kitchen.

KEY BENEFITS
Regular restaurant hood filters cleaning
There are many benefits to getting regular grease filter system cleaning.
Cleaning is required by law. A Building Warrant of Fitness under the New Zealand Building Act requires a yearly inspection, clean and sanitisation of any ventilation and air conditioning system.
Your insurance company may require it. If you don’t keep your equipment clean and your negligence can be shown as the cause of an accident, then your insurance company may not pay out.
You reduce the risk of accidents. No-one wants an accident to happen at their restaurant or food premises. Removing grease build-up reduces your fire risk.
You reduce health and safety risks. Regular cleaning reduces the risk of contaminated fat dripping back down to your cooking equipment or entering water supplies, which benefits the health of your customers and your staff.
You will save on costs – keeping your kitchen filters clean will save you money. Keeping your equipment in good condition reduces the risk of breakdowns such as the fan motor burning out, which is costly to repair. You will also save money because clean machines run more efficiently. Regular cleaning is also likely to be more cost-effective than having to pay a company to do a major clean and overhaul of your system which has been uncared for.
